Rescue My Concrete Pty Ltd was approached to offer an alternative water-proofing solution to the specified bitumenous membrane on the Karrakatta Mausoleum.
After months of the Rescue My Concrete Team making the case for higher quality, fast installation, greater longevity, and a greater envelope of application possibilities, the client finally decided to give the go ahead to cover a sample area. After that, everybody was convinced of the quality and suitability of the solution with premium protective coatings manufactured in Australia by Rhino Linings.
The Rescue My Concrete Team installed the membrane at 40% cost of their cheapest competitor (bitumen sheet products) and to the disbelief of the parties involved. For example, the Rescue My Concrete Team prepared all different substrates appropriately and could also seamlessly cover the transitions to the specified copper gutter systems. This means they are not only receiving run off water directly over the membrane from the roof, it also means there is no chance of unwanted water run-offs around the gutters as they are solidly “glued” to the building.
The professional drone pilot managed to capture footage that showcases the extent of the project (~1,200 sqms) and details of the application. The clip shows the different substrates and multitude of risers, penetrations and parapet walls The Rescue My Concrete Team covered on top of the 14! different buildings. Needless to say more than 50% of the job was surface preparation.
The major challenges included high wind speeds and over-spray, wildlife (bird droppings and birds dropping tree berries), achieving a smooth finish of the spray membrane on all vertical surfaces and the custom coloured top coat.
Another happy customer!!!
